| + | De Vereniging van Vrijzinnig Hervormden te Twello is in 1919 opgericht. Aanvankelijk werden diensten gehouden in hotel-restaurant De Kroon. Na enige jaren verrees er aan de Binnenweg 13 een eigen kerk. Bij een bombardement in de Tweede Wereldoorlog op de spoorlijn Apeldoorn-Deventer is de kerk vernield. Kerkdiensten zijn daarna gehouden in het veilinggebouw totdat in 1953 een nieuwe kerk is gebouwd, naar een ontwerp van architect A. de Vries. De nieuwe kerk is op dezelfde plek gebouwd als de oude kerk. Op 31 december 2006 is de laatste kerkdienst gehouden. Hierna is de gesloten kerk gekocht door mevrouw Ilse Hemmes die er een uitvaartcentrum van maakt onder de naam Het Afscheidshuis. - BS. (56-06/61-09) | ||
