Geschiedenis
De parochie is opgericht in 1705 en kerkte in het eerste begin op kasteel de “Kemenade” In 1728 ging dit kasteel over in andere handen. Dit was voor pastoor J.B.Plasman aanleiding zich te vestigen aan de uiterste grens van het katholieke graafschap Bergh, omdat een priester niet mocht wonen in de stad Doetinchem en katholieken mochten zich daar niet zonder toestemming van het stadsbestuur vestigen. Van oorsprong is de Martinuskerk de moederkerk van Doetinchem. De kerk staat pas sinds 1 januari 1984 op het grondgebied van de gemeente Doetinchem, door een grenswijziging tussen de gemeente Bergh en Doetinchem.

Sterk verbouwde ('10) voormalige schuurkerk.
Monumentomschrijving
R.K. Kerk St. Martinus te Wijnbergen, vanwege een eenklaviersorgel met negen registers. In 1872 gemaakt door J.H. Derdack. Derdack is in de leer geweest bij de Groningse orgelmakers Lohman. Voor zover bekend is dit het enig bewaard gebleven instrument van deze orgelmaker.
